  • Wilburn Joseph (Joe) Sanders passed away on March 19, 2019. He was born in Hico, Texas, to H. Wilburn and Hattie L. Sanders. He was predeceased by his parents, and a sister, Eva.

    Survived by wife of 66 years, Helen, and son, Mark (Judy) Sanders of Jonesboro, AR, daughter, Debra (Philip) Dahl of Jonesboro, LA, grandchildren Michael Dahl, Helen Frances (Bill) Mackay, Katelyn Dahl and William Sanders, and 4 great-grandchildren.

    Joe will be greatly missed, and will be remembered as a Christian, a man of integrity and loyalty, and a husband and father who loved his family immensely.

    Private graveside services officiated by Rev. David B. Wilson and Rev. Siegfried Johnson. Memorials may be made to Christ of the Hills United Methodist Church, 700 Balearic Rd. Hot Springs Village, AR 71909, or HSV Animal Welfare League, P.O. Box 8032, Hot Springs Village, AR 71910.

    Prayers and heartfelt condolences to Helen and family, Joe was a life long friend from La Vega High School and I enjoyed playing golf with him in our early years in Waco. Have fond memories of him with his dog when we were young.
